National Police Cadet Corps

NPCC is more than just doing drills or learning hard skills, but to also forge bonds between people from different walks of life of life. Despite many challenges that I have faced, I learnt to move on and rectify this mistakes to become a better version of myself. Through the ups and downs, I can definitely say that I have developed that sense of leadership in me that can lead and guide my juniors to greater heights.

NPCC has been a fruitful and enriching experience for me where I learnt numerous hard skills which are rarely touched on in school. I also forged strong bonds with my squadmates and improved my leadership skills. NPCC has also instilled a sense of confidence in me, especially since I am tasked with the responsibility of teaching my juniors as the Squad In-Charge. Though some trainings were tiring, seeing my juniors improve motivated me to carry on and made me feel like every effort I put in was worth it.

It has been an exhilarating experience being in the Precision Drills Sequence (PDS) squad. As the In-Charge, I am tasked with teaching my cadets and fellow squadmates. I feel that being in PDS teaches resilience as an immense amount of time and effort is needed to master the drills and stunts. However, PDS has never felt dreadful or unappealing as I came to learn them of my own volition. I truly feel that PDS is my passion and I would never give up the opportunity to learn new tricks.

Although NPCC may seem like it is just solely focused on hard skills, over time, it taught me numerous leadership skills. To me, NPCC has helped me come out of my shell and helped me with not just hard skills, also with building my confidence and leadership qualities, all of which can be applied in the future. When teaching my cadets, it can feel tiring and stressful, but the rewarding feeling that I get after successfully teaching is truly incomparable.
