YSS40 Weave of Unity
YSS40 “Weave of Unity” Sets Singapore Book of Records
As part of our YSS40 celebrations, Yishun Secondary School marked a special milestone on 5 March 2026 with our “Weave of Unity” event. Students, teachers and staff came together in a meaningful activity that symbolised the strength of our community — each strand contributing to a stronger whole.
During the event, the YSS community successfully set a Singapore Book of Records achievement for the Most Number of People Weaving Paracord Keychains at the Same Time, with 1,151 participants taking part.
The paracord keychain serves as a tangible representation of the school’s 40-year journey and achievements. Each knot in the weave symbolises significant milestones, successful cohorts, and notable achievements in the school’s history. The vibrant colours of the paracord reflect the diverse talents and successes of our students, staff and alumni.
The event was a meaningful highlight of our YSS40 celebrations, bringing the school community together to celebrate our shared past while looking ahead to the future.
